It’s fresh out the yard but the Bronson 50 is already scooping awards. The 50 foot open fast tender – winner of the Dutch Boat of the Year award – showcases Vripack’s holistic design to full effect. The Dutch design studio is responsible for the interior design, exterior styling and the entire concept in collaboration with Steeler. The upshot is a boat with attitude.
Much like Vripack, Dutch shipyard Steeler is known for driving innovation. For the Bronson 50, both teams worked to make the ordinary extraordinary. The aim for Hans Webbink, CEO of Steeler Yachts, was to have a boat that delivered on three fronts.
The result is a boat with design quirks that work. Notably, a lowered salon that directly connects to the outside main deck lounge.
'Typically yachts in this size category have a salon and exterior lounge area that are separate from each other and accessed via interior bulkheads. But in this case, it's fully open. It has a beautiful sculptural shape flowing from front to back.'

The Bronson 50 sports a large swim platform for watersports, diving and relaxation. Away form the action there are sunbeds forward and enough storage to make day tripping easy. In the cockpit a large windscreen provides clear visibility and shelter from the elements. Side windows keep the wind out from all angles creating the perfect viewing spot for the entire family.
At just 50 foot, the boat is ideal for both social gatherings at anchor and providing ample room when underway. And two cabins make this day cruiser a versatile weekend option. One located forward and the other mid-level nestled under the cockpit.
'My wish was to design a cruiser that offered open and closed space alongside generous accommodation, but at the same time resembles a day boat in terms of outdoor areas. That's what really sets the Bronson 50 apart from other Steelers.'
HANS WEBBINK - CEO STEELER YACHTS
And then there’s the interior. Full height ceilings give volume. A sliding hatch provides access to the water. And side panels that flow throughout the yacht echo the exterior styling.
Connectivity is a central theme that continues the design language, stretching from the cockpit through to the cabins. Underpinning the full custom brief, 3D milled exterior loose cushions are paired with rich matt and glossy interior finishes.
Light-tone woods, sharp angles and fabric walls complete the interior picture. And for all future models, a new innovative rotating sun roof will elevate the Bronson 50 to a whole new level.
For Webbing, the proof is in the pudding. “we sold three boats before the first one was even completed, which means we are able to convince our clients based on our concept drawings alone. It also turns out to be one of the best seafaring boats in its category. we cruise 10 knots faster than our biggest competitors without any spray water. And it offers all the space and comfort of a motor yacht. that to me is a true sign of success.”
'Taking inspiration again from automotive design, the interior palette uses 'seawater blue' to give a two-tone aqua effect in combination with champagne base tones. These contrasting colours are both masculine and elegant, which really works as it reflects the bold exterior design with family appeal.'
