House of Vripack
A creative sanctuary where innovation meets tradition, Vripack’s headquarters is the heart of collaborative design, crafting yachts that redefine life at sea.
“Nestled beside Sneek’s Houkesloot canal, Vripack’s headquarters brings together our multidisciplinary team in an open, light-filled space designed for collaboration.
Our studio combines heritage with contemporary tools – from advanced AI concept development to immersive virtual reality experiences that let clients walk through their yachts before they’re built. Here, six decades of craftsmanship expertise meets cutting-edge technology, enabling our team to design yachts that match each owner’s vision of life on the water.”
A Waterfront Hub of Collaboration and Craft
Across two floors, the studio embodies Vripack’s human-centric philosophy and holistic approach. On the ground floor, an open-plan workspace brings designers, engineers, naval architects and management together, encouraging collaboration at every stage of the process.
The light-filled, minimalist interior nurtures creativity, while the building itself reflects Vripack’s sustainability ethos: a thoughtfully repurposed former bank, whose thick walls and passive design minimise energy use. Even the original bank vault remains — reimagined as one of several inviting meeting rooms.
Where Innovation Comes to Life
The studio is equipped with industry-leading tools to turn bold ideas into reality. From AI-powered concepting and advanced gaming software for hyper-realistic walkthroughs, to a dedicated 3D prototyping room producing models and intricate components to handle, test and refine.
Upstairs, a 100sqm sample lab and maker space allow for hands-on experimentation. And in the fully immersive VR ‘Cave,’ owners can explore and understand their yachts in remarkable detail — long before they set sail.
Inside the House of Vripack
At Vripack, we see yacht design as more than just lines on paper; it’s a seamless recipe of naval architecture, exterior form, and interior soul, all crafted under one roof. Few studios in the world can bring such a holistic vision to life, and none with our heritage of over 8,000 designs since 1961.
In this short film created with Boat International, our co-creative directors Bart Bouwhuis and Marnix Hoekstra take you behind the scenes of the House of Vripack. With wit, warmth and even a pizza, they share how our integrated approach, innovative tools like VR, and a shared passion for the craft deliver yachts that are more than the sum of their parts. Watch why great yachts — like great pizza — are best made whole.
Masters of craft:
When skill transcends into soul
At Vripack, to build is the skill of workmanship — but to craft is the magic of artistry. Every yacht we design is a testament to that belief, where precision meets passion, and even the smallest detail carries the weight of care. From first sketch to first sail, craftsmanship infuses every step of the journey, ensuring that what is imagined is realised — beautifully, flawlessly, and without compromise.
The one true validation of a successful yacht design is when the boat splashes for the very first time. That sink or swim moment designed to rigorously test all onboard systems and confirm the much-anticipated new build’s success. It’s a long and labour-intensive road from first sketch to final sail, but it’s a construction journey that no Vripack owner walks alone.
Just as haute couture designers pore over the precision seams and hand-sewn sequins that collectively bring their fashion creations to life, Vripack nurtures a deep-seated connection with the artisanal workers needed to construct a yacht. From the first cut of steel or furnace-hot weld to the laying of pipes and cable, the interior outfitting and final fairing of the hull, the studio’s inherent understanding of what it takes to make, cast and build a boat remains omnipresent.
The Art of Doing It Right,
the First Time
In literal translation, the word ‘craftsmanship’ refers to the quality of design and work shown in something made by hand. A pure act of craftsmanship relies on a designer’s unwavering eye to keep it on the straight and narrow. The boat must float. The paint must shine. The bespoke cabinetry must soft close with an imperceptible click.
“It’s our role as chief creatives to make sure that everything we’ve agreed with the owner, all the details that we have presented and the vision that we have planted is fully realized without fault,” says Marnix.
It takes expertise to execute the various techniques at hand, mated with the artistry and dedication of a designer to see their craft sympathetically brought to life.
For Vripack, it all comes down to doing it right the first time, every time.
