AlumerciA

World cruiser given a new lease of life

AlumerciA

FIRST LIFE – Having sold his aluminium business, AlumerciA’s first owner, Mr. Boers, a keen sailor, finally had all the time in the world to indulge his interest to his heart’s content. He learned that even within the already specialist world of luxury yachting, expedition yachts demanded a particularly high degree of specialist knowledge for which Vripack is the go-to studio.

This resulted in an all-aluminium full displacement expedition yacht equipped with double Azimuthing dual propeller, characterized by exceptional maneuverability, low noise and vibration levels, and high fuel-efficiency. After logging no less than 113,408 Nm, AlumerciA triumphantly returned from her world voyage to a warm and enthusiastic welcome by the Vripack team.

Vripack – Refit AlumerciA – Detail image of the AlumerciA – Second Life

SECOND LIFE – All she needs is a refit, thought Serkan Borançili, as he inspected AlumerciA, and she’d be perfect for me and my family and friends. And thus began the team’s collaborative 100-day challenge. And quite a challenge it was, with Vripack’s designers and engineers sketching by day and the building team implementing the designs the very same night, the process ran with the smooth efficiency of a well-oiled machine and it paid off, resulting in the successful transformation of the rugged explorer into a young man’s yacht in time and on budget.

REFIT WITHOUT COMPROMISES

As part of the refit, the car garage, which had held a custom-built Toyota, was replaced with a beach club. A new fresco party deck, complete with DJ mixing desk-cum-bar and water slide was designed and the Jacuzzi ‘island’ got surrounded by an apron of sunbathing space. The interior’s structure was retained, but all surface features were redecorated. And so AlumerciA gained a second life without sacrificing her functional robustness.
