Unexpectedly slender, and just 21m in length, the NED 70 lets its slanting exterior lines do all the talking. With a design aesthetic that takes the lead, rather than the volume, its sharp angular contours evoke style and confidence.
Designed with a nod to Low Displacement Length (LDL) it is both fuel-efficient and comfortable in rough seas. It also more than competes with a length/ratio of 4:1, which means it packs a punch when cruising, but sits pretty when at anchor. It is, in short, a wealth of combined knowledge distilled into one holistic vision, a Vripack.
‘The mere idea of having distant coasts within reach is simply sensational.’
MR. B. VELEMA – 1ST OWNER
Conceived for an owner with a specific dream – to be able to dry out in tidal areas without compromising on performance – the NED 70 is a masterclass in flexibility. A stepped mast allows space for NavComms while doubling up as a crane to hoist the tender. Windows in the superstructure allow for swathes of natural light, as well as neat, integrated seating. Bilge keels and stabilizers fitted in the hull prevent the yacht from rolling in waves, but also facilitate the all-important drying out.
Designed in its entirety by Vripack, it benefits from a design language that is as fluid as it is aesthetically pleasing. Whitewashed oak paired with wengé details delivers a zen-like ambiance to the interior. Light and airy with a sophisticated layout, a pale palette accentuates the internal volume.
The owner’s cabin forward sits alongside the main saloon, itself benefitting from a generous galley and a six-person U-shaped dinette. Two helms (one on the flybridge) provide shifting vistas and fresh perspectives, as well as an outside hub for entertaining. And two luxurious guest cabins aft allow the onboard experiences to be shared with those who matter.
‘NED 70 may call itself a real head-turner. Not only her design is contemporary and off the beaten track. Her hull also has something quirky which makes drying out belong to the possibilities.’
