Blue Revolution: a groundbreaking perspective on climate resilient urban development

Population growth, climate change impacts and the destruction of nature call for a radical, global new approach to urban development. A promising solution is the ‘Blue Revolution’, the sustainable use of the water surface on a global scale for floating cities, and the production of (bio)energy and food.  The potential of floating structures to provide climate resilient living space has recently been acknowledged by the United Nations and the IPCC. In his presentation, Rutger de Graaf will present how we can move from the already existing small-scale floating projects towards large-scale, positive-impact floating developments.
