Delft Hyperloop

Hyperloop – the future of transportation

In a world in which we are more connected than ever, quick and comfortable transportation is of utmost importance. However, the transport sector is considered to be one of the biggest contributors to pollution, accounting for a quarter of the world’s CO2 emissions, globally. Needless to say, the demand for sustainable transport grows daily and the question arises if traditional transportation modes like a car, train or aeroplane are able to fulfil this role in the future. That is where the hyperloop comes in, as a new, innovative high-speed transportation system which is able to bring you from Amsterdam to Paris, in less than 30 min, using magnetic levitation and a vacuum environment.  In Delft, the student team Delft Hyperloop is working on innovations that can turn this dream into reality. Sophie will take you on a journey that explains what implementing a hyperloop system could mean for us, while addressing the technical and socio-economic challenges it is still facing today.
