We are Vripack Yacht Design. With a portfolio comprising more than 7,500 yacht designs, the team represents a melting pot of originality governed by a playful interaction between beauty and function. Since opening our doors in 1961, we have sought to challenge accepted convention enabled by our extensive naval architecture and engineering knowledge. It’s this holistic approach, considering design in partnership with naval architecture, that allows us to draw inspiration and ideas from an eclectic variety of sources. The studio’s warm and energetic embrace for our clients helps to uncover the genuine needs and expectations for each design. About Vripack

As a Sr. Exterior Yacht Designer, you will join a passionate and collaborative team, creating iconic designs that push boundaries and elevate the yachting experience.

Your RoleYou will be the creative mind behind innovative and technically feasible exterior yacht concepts. From ideation to in some cases delivery, you will shape world-class designs that reflect Vripack’s values of ingenuity, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client-Centered Design
    Engage with clients to understand their vision and translate it into exceptional exterior designs.
  • Concept Development
    Create iconic, forward-thinking design concepts that balance form, function, and technical constraints.
  • Design Visualization
    Utilize advanced design tools, hand sketches, 3D modeling, and presentations to bring concepts to life.
  • Innovation & Research
    Explore new materials, trends, and technologies to continually enhance our design approach.
  • Collaborative Integration
    Work closely with Naval Architects and other departments to ensure designs are both striking and feasible.
  • Project Oversight
    Manage the full design process with attention to timelines, budgets, and uncompromising quality standards.

Your Profile

  • A degree in (Industrial) Design, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline;
  • 7+ years of experience designing luxury yachts;
  • Expertise in design software and hand sketching;
  • Proven experience leading complex design projects and multidisciplinary teams;
  • A strong portfolio showcasing innovative, realized design concepts;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

Your Role

You will have an active and leading role in the creative development of sophisticated, functional, and inspiring yacht interiors. From concept to completion, your designs will reflect Vripack’s signature blend of craftsmanship, innovation, and attention to detail—tailored to meet each client’s unique vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client-Centered Design
    Understand and interpret the lifestyle, preferences, and requirements of clients to design bespoke, high-end interior spaces.
  • Concept Creation
    Develop innovative interior concepts that balance elegance, comfort, and practicality—ensuring a seamless onboard experience.
  • Visualization & Material Selection
    Use sketches, CAD software, mood boards, and material samples to effectively present your vision to clients and stakeholders.
  • Trend and Material Research
    Stay current with interior design trends, furnishings, finishes, and sustainable materials to elevate each project.
  • Collaborative Integration
    Engage in an intensive creative dialogue with disciplines such as Exterior Design and Naval Architecture to ensure a cohesive and integrated design.
  • Project Oversight
    Manage the full design process, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling, from initial brief through to delivery.

Your Profile

  • A degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline;
  • 7+ years of experience designing luxury yachts;
  • Possess extensive knowledge of luxury materials and have access to a network of exclusive suppliers;
  • Strong creative and conceptual abilities with a refined sense of spatial design;
  • Expertise in design software and hand sketching;
  • Proven experience leading complex design projects and multidisciplinary teams;
  • A portfolio that demonstrates innovative and luxurious interior solutions;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

As a (Sr.) Naval Architect with a strong passion for and deep interest in Yacht Design, you’ll be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, translating visionary concepts into technically sound and seaworthy yachts.

Your Role

You will apply your expertise to develop cutting-edge yachts that meet the highest standards in performance, safety, and design. You will contribute throughout the full design cycle —from initial concept to delivery—ensuring every technical detail aligns with Vripack’s renowned creative vision and the client’s expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Development
    Participate in conceptual yacht design to ensure technically viable solutions, that uphold structural integrity, stability, and compliance with class and flag regulations.
  • Design Integration
    Collaborate closely with exterior and interior designers to ensure technical feasibility while preserving the creative intent.
  • Hydrodynamics & Stability
    Perform calculations for hull form optimization, stability, weight estimation, resistance, and propulsion systems.
  • 3D Modeling & Engineering
    Use advanced design and engineering software (e.g., Rhino, AutoCAD, Maxsurf, or similar) to develop accurate 3D models and documentation.
  • Sustainability & Innovation
    Explore new materials, propulsion systems, and sustainable technologies to enhance performance and environmental impact.
  • Mentoring & Collaboration
    Work as part of a tight-knit team and, when senior-level, provide guidance to junior naval architects and technical designers.
  • Project Coordination
    Coordinate with shipyards, suppliers, and regulatory bodies throughout the design and build process to ensure alignment and quality.

Your Profile

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field;
  • 5+ years (medior) or 8+ years (senior) of relevant experience, in yacht design or high-performance vessels;
  • Strong knowledge of yacht classification standards, regulations, and construction methods;
  • Experience with design tools such as Rhino, Maxsurf, AutoCAD, and stability software;
  • Affinity with the aesthetics and design language of luxury yachts;
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven mindset;
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
